should I? should I update?
Nov. 16th, 2007 07:41 amPeriodically I receive an automatic update pop ups on my iMac, that I can choose to use, should I want to update a particular software online (free). Just this week I got a pop up to update OSX Tiger. OK. Reading the instructions, as before, and I need to backup all my stuff. But what I'm nervous about is will I have problems as I had when I initially upgraded to Tiger? At that time I was on the phone forever with Apple (Sacramento), Earthlink (India, Philippines), trying to reconfigure everything. It was a bit of a hassle. Actually a big hassle. Currently my desktop is a mess with files everywhere (archiving stuff for live journal etc). And my screen saver of over 4000 pics takes time to backup. So backing up is a chore in itself. Apparently Tiger had some problems in the past (which I have not experienced), and so maybe this upgrade should be not be done? If it ain't broke, don't fix? And with the bad luck I have had with appliances in the past month".....
Um. If I do it, think I'll wait till a rainy day, when home, and have the time. But it is so hard to get good customer service on the weekends and nights.
