A young lad's cute tat, at Civic Center Pride Festival

1. Friday, my friend Will arrived (late due to flight delays). But we did end up making it to SF for a bit of night fun with the gang (Mark, Jim, Lee (and ex Tony). Of course the city was packed with Pride weekend upon us.

2. Too packed for us, we later on ventured for dinner. Then home fairly early. Long week, and a long day hit us hard.

3. Saturday, Will wanted to to "The Haight", to walk around. We did. It was a nice change. And less crowded than the Castro for sure. Parking easy!

4. Later that night, friends met us at the Basque Cultural Center for an early dinner. Then later on, Will and I took BART and MUNI to the Castro for Pink Saturday.

5. I avoid Pink Saturday like the plague, but Will had never seen it. And I know once he has seen it, and been there, he will never want to go again. Crowded, a sea of people in the blocked off Castro Street. Mostly kids, straight kids, gangs, thugs. Not what it used to be years ago. Walking outside was uncomfortable, and at times seemed unsafe.

6. We huddled in packed 440 for a few hrs, then once the noise and crowd overload got to us, we ventured back to MUNI to home. That was a scene in itself

7. The MUNI station was so packed, the staff was trying to control the crowd by blocking the entry turnstiles, until the packed crowd on the platform were loaded onto the trains.

8. Muni is very unorganized. The staff were trying to tell the crowd whst to do, and with the loud crowd, impossible to hear. You'd think they would of had megaphones.

9. Behind us, were a rowdy gang, talking up, swearing, and getting belligerent.

10. We finally made it down to the platform to await the next train. Just as we reached the platform, the rowdy guy that was behind us started punching another man, then punched two others. One short Latin man, that was punched, punched the much bigger instigator, to the ground, into Will. The fight continued, I grabbed Will by the arm to get him out of harms way. The cops showed up pretty fast, and sprayed the instigator with pepper spray, and hauled him away.

11. Finally on the train we made to the Civic Center to transfer to BART. My Clipper Card was maxed out, so I had to add money to it. As I was waling to the money machine, a very cute young British man came up to me and said he had accidentally purchased two BART tickets each totaling $10. Would I like to buy one. I said sure but let me use that card to get through the turnstile, and if I do I will pay him for it. It did. I paid him for the ticket.

12. After the crowds, the fights, and the hassle of just getting around, it was nice to be home, and in bed

13. Sunday we were up early. Off to park my car in the Castro, eat breakfast at The Cove, then Muni it to Civic Center to get a spot for the parade. Will thought it was nice, but it went on forever (over 4 hrs!). He will never go to that again too (I usually don't either. Been there done that. But I will go if I walk in it of course!). Saw many friends walking the parade too.

14. With the crowds it was hard to find any of our friends (estimates for the weekend festivities were at about 2 million). Once a the crowded Civic Center for the after parade festival. We were just standing around had low and behold, the friends that we were looking for, Tom from Sac, and his friend Hank, were right next to us. LOL. Then a few minutes we ran in to Lee and his friend Tony. Well that was easy!

15. Then out of the thousands of people there Will and I were just standing there, and within the small group standing next to us was the Latin guy that was in the fight the night before in the MUNI station. We chatted about the indecent. He as find except for a small scrape on his brow. What were the odds of running into him?

16. Then next to the Latin guy, in another group was my cub friend Dave, and his BF, that lives just a few blocks from me.

17. After a few hrs of walking around, Will and I thought it be best to get back to my place. Will had to get up early to fly back home and get to work, and it Monday was a work day for me. Plus we were tired of crowds, noise, too much sun, and just "gayed out". LOL

18. Monday was a busy day. Hard when sunburned, and pooped.

19. I was in bed last night by 10 pm, watching TV, and passed out to a deep sleep instantly.

20. Early sleep did wonders. I need to do that more often.

21. Running into everyone on Sunday, so automatic, it seemed like all the stars were in alignment. Or just coincidence.
