1. I stayed home yesterday, took a two hour nap, went to bed early (if 10:30 pm is considered early), took a 10 minute nap today, and still could sleep some more! LOL
2. The weekend was a bit different than the usual. It was out to the Castro, to meet Mark, Tom and Lee, but I was home fairly early.
3. Saturday, dinner was planned at Canela, for 8 of us to celebrate Mark and Patrick's birthday (Patrick actually turns 50 this Friday). The meal was fantastic! We each ordered Tapas, and shared the various choices. It was one of those meals that you still feel a bit hungry after, but as the evening continues, hrs later, one is full. Plus Mat Schuster, Proprietor and Chef, and the staff, are also very yummy to look at.
4. Lee got the two birthday cakes, and a cupcake from Noe Valley Bakery. Marks said Happy Birthday in Italian, and Patrick's in Gaelic. When the cakes came out, Mark got his big cake, Patrick got the small cupcake. It was laughter from all of us. Minutes later, Patrick's 'real' cake came out, as we sang happy birthday again.
4. After dinner it was back to the Castro. Jim and I left fairly early. He did spend the night. I really need to get used to sleeping with others. One movement from the neighbor next to me, and I'm awake. No wonder I'm still tired. Maybe if I had a Cal King bed I would sleep better.
5. Even though I stayed in Sunday, after searching for the best seats left, I managed to somewhat score OK seats for Madonna's tour at HP Pavilion in San Jose in October.
6. They are side stage seats. But at least better than the other remaining seats that are back stage (we would not see anything). Searching sites for seat feedback, seems our section is OK to good. At this moment that section just sold out. Whew! Just made it!
7. OMG! But the prices! One forgets that the also charge a ticket fee, mailing fee... I haven't been in a concert in year (Cher was the last one at HP), and don't think the tickets were that high then. And we had good seats. But then again, that's a Cher concert.
How I miss the Circle Star in San Carlos. Tix were always reasonable and you could see the stage from each seat, for the stage slowly rotated. Looks like a real tight budget till payday.
8. Friend Mark and I will be going. We did not want to spend that much, but for the next to next best seats, we had to. And we never had seen Madonna in concert before, so better do it now. She is getting old! LOL. And looking at her tour schedule, how does she do it? She is everywhere! Can't wait to go! And think the seats will be fine . Plus there are big screens everywhere too.
