Highlights of the month so far
Sep. 20th, 2013 08:38 amYes, it's not the "weekend and week so far" post, but by the month. I've been too busy to really blog much (I do quickly in FB, for it's just easier), and figured same news just a different day. But here we go.

1. Yes work is busier than usual. Although finished with the submitted budget reports, two of our properties had two important issues. One property, the manager took maternity leave, and later extended it 1 more week. He basically did nothing at the property. Never submitted his property invoices in a timely manner. And since they are doing major renovations, the maintenance staff needs easy access to The Home Depot Store. So while he was gone, the store put a hold on purchases due to $4000 owing.
2. In a panic, our Regional called Craig, at the sister Pacifica property to get over there and get the invoices processed and sent to corporate. And also step in, to help manage that plus his newly acquired property. He was already overwhelmed with his new property mgt position. This was 2 weeks ago.
3. Then Monday of this week, Craig, the manager of that property had some recurring health issues and needed some medical care or such. So he took a family leave, medical leave for 4 weeks.
4. So Monday of this week, I am asked to generate reports on all 3 properties (don't know the history or even a clue on the specific report is suppose to be like on one property). Reports done, I am then asked to get to the properties, get the billing and invoices, and get them processed and to corporate.
5. So Monday and Tuesday ended up being 12 hr days (plus bringing work home). I had to put my property on hold (we are under a microscope due to our high vacancy (thanks to owner generated rent increases). Oh well. If the owners showed up, and I not there.... I am finishing up 2 more reports due this morning. Then off to Pacifica one more time for an hour or so. I think they found an assistant manager to fill in for 4 weeks, so that will help me a lot (Corporate is lousy at getting in house help or coverage)
6. Even though they hired temps, they are basically seat fillers, and really can't help much. So I spent most of the week going back and forth from my property to Pacifica. At least I can access the rent roll and purchasing on those properties from my office PC. That does help.
7. I did interview and hire a new person for the weekends, but right now she is going through the HR hiring process. So I am to work Saturday. I did get a temp for Sunday to give me a break.
8. So that is work. And for fun? The usual. Trying to get to the gym, but it has been hard with work and all. Plus I've been fighting a cold, which is almost gone.
9. Two weeks ago Craig, the new manager and I went to the Winters Tavern, down the street from his property.
10. I've mentioned it before, but when I lived in Pacifica, I went there every Friday for the excellent live band music. It's a straight Hells Angles hangout. I guess I am remembered, for again, Chad, the owner, came up to me shook my hand and asked how I was doing (woof!). We all had a great time. Met two new friends, Dolli, and Mitzi Demure. They were a hoot. I come to find out they are porn actors (and bisexual). They are coming to Folsom Fair and to the Bearracuda Folsom dance next Friday as well!

11. Last Saturday, Rich Stadtmiller had his 60th birthday party at BeatBox dance club. It was really nice! Wonderful entertainment. Mama was there, who I have not seen in a long time. She has not been well, a bit of Vertigo, and who knows what. She has lost tremendous weight. I'm sensing that this is not good. I'm very worried :(

12. Well that's it for now. Off to work, staying in tonight. Has been a beautiful week, but suppose to rain tonight and tomorrow. Just a light rain
13. HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!
