"The Old Guard"
Dec. 17th, 2007 06:09 pmOver the past few Eagle Beer busts, I noticed this butch older man, who usually stands near the BBQ. Dressed in full leather, with cap, jacket, leather pants and boots. Sunglasses are on, rain or shine. And smoking a big cigar. That. I have not seen in quite a while. A Tom of Finland poster in the flesh. A throw back to the old days at the Eagle, Brig(Powerhouse), and Ringold Alley. Then, you would see a bar (and alley) full of them. Quite intimidating actually. And could be quite scary. At least it was for me, when I was just coming out in the mid 80's. I've asked a few people about him. They said he is there a lot. He never talks to anyone. Or acknowledges anyone. Just poses. Then leaves. He sorta has attitude. Or does he? In those days, it was part of the image. To be stoic. Yes Sir! Or is it Yes Daddy! (he also may be a bottom? A Daddy bottom?) Actually, I think he is dangerously intriguing (danger can be sexy you know). And I bet he looks absolutely hot under all that leather. Maybe next time, if I have the guts, I might say hi.
