0. What is up with the weather? It's suppose to get to the 70's in some areas. No rain in sight. Way under the usual rain amounts for the season. Will we be in for a drought, or get plastered with rain in February and March?

1. Well think the cold sore is on its way out. Lessening day by day :)

2. I think, getting the flu shot this year was a good thing. I had my cold before Christmas, not too bad in fact. But I somehow believe that I was not totally free from it, maybe it was still lingering, low grade like, maybe due to the shot, my system or the type of virus. Or was it or is it also allergies? Not sure.

3. Anyway, I continued to go to the gym (but at a moderate pace of workout, and taking a few more days off).

4. Last night I decided to go in, which is usually my gym day off, and do some light leg stuff.

5. A few weeks ago I felt a pulling under my left kneecap, while pressing or squatting, so I thought I had better just do an easy one this time, or maybe more reps and lighter weight.

6. I did manage to leg press 14 plates (45 lbs each) to 7-8 reps. I usually do more (12-15 reps, and later up to 16 plates), but strength was just not there last night, and I felt that tightness under the cap again. Better be safe than sorry. So at the 5th set, I racked down to 6 plates and just did 2 more sets of 20 reps.

7. I was going to do lunges, but thought best not. Just finish up the night with leg extensions, leg curls, and calf raises.

8. Gym was pretty empty. One beefy Latin guy was there. Nice man. We shook hands, wished each other a happy new year, and moved on. I have spotted him on the bench press many times before. He is big and strong! Watching him above, as I spot his press, as his big chest heaves and tightens is quite a turn on. His wife is there with him most the time. Sometimes she spots him, but most times she just sits and watches (she is the one that needs to work out. She is pretty heavy. They should work out together!)

9. My friend Mark told me months ago that he was seriously considering applying for The Amazing Race for this season (or the season after that). He asked me to consider, or who else he could ask.

10. I had really not seen the show, except for the last 2 episodes this season. It does look interesting.

11. So Mark talked to friend Lee, and so Lee may do it. Mark, not sure that Lee will follow through, asked if I might consider (I think he should choose someone younger than me (Lee), and more athletic (Mark is not athletic), to give him the advantage. Lee has been all over the world which would also be an advantage.

12. And more importantly, my getting a month off of work would be probably impossible.

13. I then think of my eyes. I am as blind as a bat. What if I lost my glasses or contact lenses during a race, in some water or rapids? Or skydiving, or? or? I know. Not valid reasons to chicken out.

13. But then no matter who goes with Mark, two "Queens" on Amazing Race, would be amazing! LOL!

14. Hummmm. I'm going to email HR and see what they say.

15. I probably would not do it, but I feel good that I was asked :)
