ACTA in a Nutshell –

What is ACTA?  ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.

Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”

What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.

Essential ACTA Resources

Say NO to ACTA. It is essential to spread awareness and get the word out on ACTA.

1. I am pretty much caught up at work.

2. Actually not. I'm procrastinating. Enough procrastination to catch up on some LJ

3. I have my physical exam this Friday morning (so I'll showered and fresh for the doc to poke and prod).

4. I did get a teeny lip cold sore, and Doc, thanks to the expediency of Kaiser's website, web mail, contacting my Doc, and he gave me a weeks prescription of antibiotics to kill the thing. I picked up the med last night, after gym. Plus I was able to make Friday's appointment on line too. I actually am getting to like Kaiser. Slowly

5. Speaking of gym, there was this nerdy/geeky looking guy there last night. Second time I saw him. He may be nerdy looking but his firm butt, tapered back, muscled delts and arms, were nice to look at. Not too muscular, or too lean he was.And actually his geekiness is kind of cute. That innocence look :)

6. Anyway we were briefly looking at the flat screen at some kind of Jackass Movie type stunt on the flat screen on the wall. I made a comment, he commented back agreeably. From his body language, and all, I think he is very very shy. And I think I need a workout partner very very badly (wink). Seriously. He would be a great one to work out with. All work, and not much talk. And watching him, he seems to know what he is doing.

7. My sister called this morning with some news about her husband. He was out in front of the house picking up the paper, in the rain on Sunday. Fainted. Fell and hit the back of his head on the pavement. Blood everywhere. Rushed to Kaiser in Roseville, then Sacramento, they found a small amount of blood in the brain, but today, he seems to be much better. The dizziness, could of been caused by his meds, Parkinson's, or both. This to me is my wake up call, that his Parkinson's is starting to get worse. At Christmas, it was barely noticeable. But my sister said, it has been progressing. Slowly, but progressing. Memory laps, slowness, mild shaking at times.
Ugh. Poor sis. Here we go. The next round of family health issues :(

8. I peeked on Facebook today at work. How does anyone keep up with that thing? The new stories post so quickly! Does anyone work anymore? Seems that all they do is post, post, post. All day! LOL

9. I know a few years ago, there was an article that Facebook cuts productivity at work

http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9135795/Study_Facebook_use_cuts_productivity_at_work

but then again

http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/162478/twitter_facebook_can_improve_work_productivity.html

10. But then again. Does anyone work anymore?

11. We have our annual company kickoff meeting tomorrow. All day thing. Speakers, rah rah stuff, and food!

12. Off to the gym tonight. Humm. Wonder if Mr Geek will be there :)
