The weekends and weeks so far
Jul. 21st, 2013 02:10 pm1. Time zips by, work zips by (sometimes), and I just don't get on here enough!
2. Plus whatever LJ (and FB) is doing with their upgrades, the downloads are sometimes too slow, and I'm not patient enough to wait.
3. The past 2-3 weekends have also zipped by so quickly, with memories overlapping I just don't exactly remember what weekend or day I did what! LOL
4. Lets see.... I'll just give a general review.
5. Work has been the shits. The owners for some odd reason (even though they get a monthly market survey of the current rents in they area, from me), jacked up the asking rents (market rents) so high they are just sitting. Of course they are now watching us, listening to our calls, reviewing our posted ads, with annoying scrutiny.
6. It's us, because things are not moving, not them. But we have reduced a few units (teaser rates, lost leaders) which has generated traffic, and have leased.
7. But it's the same old story. They raise the asking rents (base rents), saying we are the reason why they are not renting. Then when the lower the rents, and we lease them, they then say rents are too low. So then they raise the rents. An endless cycle.
8. We still do not have full time maintenance man. However out of the 15 or more that we interviewed, one was chosen, and now going though the HR process of the hire process. So even though our temp is doing a fairly good job, it still is taking time from me, to help out. That plus the endless annoying questions from the owners, having to me to generate new types of reports is or has been overwhelming.
9. On the socical scene, saw World War Z a few weeks ago. Good movie! Also,
rockyotter, has been in town from Pender Island, BC, Canada for about a month now. Have been meeting with him a few times in, and with friends in SF.
10. Also an old friend that lived on the peninsula, and had moved to Birmingham AL, was visiting for a couple of weeks, and staying with friend David in Mt View, who hosted a nice BBQ last Monday. Had a really good time.
11. Friday, after slaving and trying to make the property look half way decent, for the planned visit from the owner of my company, all went well, and had good complements. Yay that!
12. Even though exhausted, I later I met up with visiting Stephen from AL, who friend David is now calling Lisa (Lisa Douglas from Green Acres), at the Midnight Sun, and 440 for HH. After Lee, Tony (who is also visiting from Wisconsin) had dinner at Fork. I had a great burger! I was home fairly early and asleep by 11:30!
13. Yesterday, to celebrate friend Patrick and Mark's birthday, a small group of us met at Grub. Mark always finds the best places. Food was reasonably priced and great!
14. I had the fried chicken over peanut butter french toast, with cold slaw on the side yummy!. Sounds odd, but all the flavors were in perfect combination.
15. After brunch, I had to work for a couple of hrs. I did end up staying home. Glad I did. Even though I was up late watching SNL, I still feel rested.
16. As for the gym thing, I have been sorta working out but avoiding any heavy stuff on the subject of arms. I was for sure that I damaged my rotator cuff. The pain, or tendon pulls was really annoying. Especially when sleeping or even reaching up.
17. I found some great light exercises on YouTube, on stretching the arm, and light exercises. It seems to be working. Last few days the shoulder is doing really well. Barely any pain. And yesterday, I did heavy dumbbell curls, being sure the arm rested on a surface with elbows forward, putting less strain on the shoulder. Seems to of worked.
18. So this morning, I met up with Tom, Lee, visiting Tony at Fitness SF/SoMa. Had a good leg workout. It's a bit slow when working with 4 instead of just two, but we did fine. That made the one hour workout into two. But of course towards the end, we ended up chatting with a few buddies.
19. Tom and I were discussing this later on, but I don't know why, but some of the really hot hunks at the gym, never smile or are either willing to acknowledge a return nod or polite smile. Maybe they get looked at so much, they are insecure that something is wrong with them. Or they are hit on so much they prefer to not to acknoledge and just work out. Or maybe its the juice they are on. LOL
20. Anyway if this guy were my trainer, or workout buddy, it would be too distractive! I need to find a woman trainer = no distractions. LOL

21. Off to food shop, then off to the Eagle later this afternoon. Have a great upcoming week everyone!
