Not much of a surprise, really. And many people won't be sorry to see it go.

The bright side: that leaves me free to wander around the bay area on Labor Day weekend. Whatever shall I do...?

Yeah. That fair is a bad attempt at being a good fair. What to do? Lots. Drive to Carmel/Monterey, museums, or just stay in town and BBQ. I usually don't go far on a 3 day weekends (I may have to work Monday anyway). Also Kathy Griffin will be preforming in SF that weekend too!
