some time, I have had this nudging in my gut, to go out east. The right coast that is. And to my home Provence of Quebec. Not for a move, but for a long visit.
After reading
mister_don's post of the MA's beaches, my urge to travel is stronger.
I actually would love to start in NYC, do Long Island, then drive north, along much of the coast of New England as I could. Stopping off at Hampton Beach/Old Orchard, where I summered as child (I hear it's not as nice as it used to be), up to Quebec, to the Gaspe Peninsula, then west to Quebec City, Plessisville (my dads birth place), Sherbrooke (my childhood place), then to Montreal (actually a across the US or Canada would be fun too!).
It was there not long after my Dad passed, that my mom treated my sister and I to a trip "home"; to visit the family (note: between my mom's side, and my dad's side together, I once counted over 400 relatives. Those damn breading Catholics! :). So I have lots of family to stay with and visit, all over Quebec, and Canada. But then again maybe I not do the "visit the family" thing.
Years later, after that visit, I did go back to Montreal, and Sherebrooke with an ex boyfriend (our gay trip). I did not tell the relatives I was going. All was fine, except for the close call at Sears in Sherbrooke. We were shopping for some shirts, and low and behold my cousin walks up to the register to ask the clerk a question. I immediately hid behind the clothing racks (and my asshole boyfriend tried to make a scene as to have me noticed. He was unsuccessful. I was relieved to not of been discovered and explain why I was here, and did not notify the clan.
Anyway a trip out East would be nice. And when the hell would I get 4+ weeks off to do it? When I retire? Then I'll be too old to see! :P
