Done! (quick ramble)
Dec. 17th, 2009 11:47 amwith holiday shopping! YAY! In just 2 stops. Macy's and Target. With the newish family rule of drawing a family member's name out of a hat, we only had to buy one gift (but also one for the baby grand nephew). Good thing. With my dumb mismanagement of my monthly budget, paying taxes, etc, I am basically almost broke for the week, till next weeks payday. How the F did I manage that?? December is always such a financial gloom. Always has been for all I guess.
1. I was thinking of mailing Holiday cards to only those that mailed to me first (I know, tacky), but since I got such a great deal on cute boxed cards at Dollar Tree, $1 per box, I will send more out. But the postage! Arg! Especially to relatives in Canada!
2. I stood in line for almost 35 minutes for those cards and wrapping paper. It was packed!
3. I usually don't shop there often. Most of the products are obscure brands, that really don't do the job (especially strange cleaning stuff, and Alkaline Batteries).
4. But once in awhile, the gift wrap and gift bags and tissue paper can be a good deal. But as for wrapping the gift this morning, the paper is cute, but so thin! Cheap! It ripped at the corners!! :(
5. I just don't know about buying the food items. Some known brands seem to be in smaller packages, therefore are you are really getting a deal for 1 buck?
6. A lot of things seem to be coming from China. Looks like China might be getting richer from our struggling middle class.
7. Even thought there is a lot of cheap stuff (quality wise), it's items are a bit better than Big Lots.
8. I wonder how long this type of business will last?
