An extension on Lewis Carroll's original story, Tim Burton did a fairly good job, but my thoughts on this are:
1. Slow moving at the beginning
2. Medium speed through the middle
3. Quick and fast to the end
4. Johnny Depp was good, as were the other actors.
4. But, I liked Avatar better. This seemed to be missing something. But I quite can't figure out what.
5. I tend to agree with this review

6. Looks like every other upcoming movie is 3D too!
7. Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

I'd read that it is quite probable that in the not too distant future, ALL movies will be in 3D. The conclusion was, why not? This article said there were the same kinds of objections to color film and now there aren't really any movies made in anything but. It said, why wouldn't you film in 3D from now on. It's the next step...

Things that make you go, "Hmmmmm..."

I have little to no interest in Alice. Not a Dep fan at all, not much of a Burton fan ('cept for Nightmare Before Christmas), and hated the book. 3D was all that was tempting me...

Some have complained about the glasses being a bit uncomfortable (especially if you have to wear them over your glasses). Maybe that will improve. Actually Dep was good. And I will say the characters were all good, the way they portrayed them was probably how we all imagined them. But the movie as a whole was empty. Seems the most popular"cute" characters that the audience liked (as I) was Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum(my sick mind this morning thought, a 3 way with them would be very very confusing (as they are a confusing couple) LOL!). As for 3D, technicians are now working on Hologram TV (http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/science/10/06/holographic.television/index.html) for your home. Now that would be cool!
