Getting the itch... to go again

Believe it or not. I used to go to the races with my second boyfriend (and his straight butch friends), at the Fremont Raceway, and in Chico often, to see Steve Kinser race. I WAS SO BUTCH!! LOL

Chico was a great track. God I miss racing.

Good track. A bit too far for just a last minute decision to attend. Fremont's track was pretty good too. Too bad they closed it for condo development :(

Oh, that's sad. West Capitol Raceway became a parking lot and wrecking yard. THAT was a great track, fastest 1/4 mile in the world at the time.

Yeah things change. Speaking of tracks, Bay Meadows Track (horses), in San Mateo (as did Tanforan, in San Bruno, yrs ago), closed a few years ago. Again, to become a place of shopping centers and condos :(. Golden Gate Fields is the only race track close by. The death of Drive-ins is also a sad thing. I think the Capitol Drive-in, San Jose, is the only one left around here.
