The Easter weekend and week so far.

1. Friday was the usual. Off to meet friends. We were running a bit, late so missed the beginning of the Trailer Trash show at Marlena's Bar, but all and all a good and funny tacky show :)

2. Saturday is was a mad dash to the grocery stores to get my stuff for the Easter Sunday Pot Luck.
I made my rice salad dish. Easy. Using Rice-a Roni Chicken flavor Rice, then later adding marinated artichoke crowns, onions, and green peppers. Let all of this set in the fridge overnight, and it makes great flavored cold treat.

3. Saturday night was the Golden Dildeaux awards at the SF Eagle. This campy fun awards event is just not what it used to be. Maybe due to lack of advertising or whatever, the number of attendees just keeps dwindling every year. For entertainment, Mark sang, "I left my heart in San Francisco, while Ho and I were dressed up as Trans America building. Don't know why, but I really was not into doing this. Hope it didn't show.


4. Home fairly early, I was up early on Sunday to peel potatoes and sweet potatoes and cook Scalloped Potatoes for the 12:30 brunch. It was raining when I left my home, but by the time I reached San Francisco, it was breezy and partly sunny.

5. There were 10 of us guys, and enough food to feed 50 people (of course). We ate, then it was off to Dolores Park for the Easter Hat and Hunky Jesus contest.

6. We missed the Easter Hat contest/parade, but were able get a fairly good area on the lawn, but a bit too far to see most of the Hunky Jesus Contest. The weather got fairly nice too!

7. Some of the costumes were really pretty good. And some of the guys hot! The winner of the contest, was dressed or costumed representing the phrase (or swear words), "Jesus Fucking Christ!". He was dressed as Jesus with a dummy attached in front of him with the dummy's legs wrapped around his waist. Well.... you get the picture. Ingenious, disrespectful, camp, and funny all at the same time.

8. After it was off to Harry Lit's event, Furry Sunday, at 440. I got home too late last night, and am just exhausted! Early bed tonight!

Wow, some hot Jesuses... I´m suprised something like that is allowed to happen. I think if someone would try something like that in Germany, I guess the chatolic church would do everything to stop this! Nice to see that it works at San Fransisco. :-)

A pity that the pic of you dressed as Trans American building is that small. ;-) Looks funny. You friend Mark seems to be a brave guy, to sind in front of other people.... :-)
