NYE and my Resolutions?
Jan. 1st, 2008 11:42 amThe New Years party at Ho's house on Church was nice. Actually there was too much food. Watched New Years on the big screen, and celebrated with champagne (which I don't really like that much) as the new year was celebrated in NYC. I really did not drink much. 3 beers and sodas the rest of the night ( I wanted to go home sober, and not crash @ Ho's home). As usual I met a few nice people, one in particular, short, compact, hairy firm pecs, arms. We talked about our trampy escapades coming out in the 80's and such, and what a miracle it is that we were still HIV negative. He was cute and somewhat intriguing. And as usual, he was more into him, than any interest in me. Strike one. Well lets just say. Strike three.
The party crowd then made it over to 440 (Daddy's) bar at 11:15. I like busy bars, but not this busy. It practically took 15 minutes to get from the front door to the the back part of the bar near the stairs. Where did all these cute men come from? Never see them out other nights. Had my sodas and watched the crowd. And celebrated the new yr in. When your not drinking, drunk people are interesting and sometime funny to watch. And of course I get off on watching beefy men passionately kissing (woof!). Off and home by 1 am. The sodas kept me awake until 3am. So I slept in until 11am! That's a first.
RESOLUTIONS:
I really never make them. But last yr. I did. And I followed them. I have always been somewhat shy at times in crowds, have some low self esteem things or confidence issues (don't we all). Sometimes I just don't know what to say when I meet someone. Especially if they are a 10! I get tongue tied. Seems to have lessen as I get older, but I still need to work on it. So I worked on this last yr. And it seems to be working. I joined the gym in June, with good success. (At the party someone who I have not seen in a while asked where I've been? Your all beefed up, arms, butt, chest. Are you doing the gym? That I needed for my self esteem, and to verify that I'm not wasting my money). I have cut down on drinking for the most part. Which in itself is a learning thing. Eagle Beer busts, 2-3 drinks, then sodas. How does one converse, in a bar, with out loosening up with alcohol. I'm doing well. Of course if I am on a trip, such as IML, Lazy Bear etc, I will let my hair down and party more. Well maybe a lot ;-).
So my resolutions for this year are pretty much the same. Self Improvement. I need to improve my finances. Maybe get a new car. Keep my eye out for better job opportunities. And need to stay off the computer more. All of this is too addicting. Need some balance. And maybe this year a boyfriend. I'm not doing the BF hunt. That is a desperation thing, which backfires and people can smell that a mile away. I will this yr try to get out more, and meet more people. A who knows, the timing may just be right and we'll meet. And I must always every year, every day, remind myself to be grateful for where I have been in life, where I have landed, and who I have met over the years. For family and friends.
Happy New Yr.
