Holiday Brunch/Eagle Toy Drive

Sunday morning was a fun success at the Positive Resource Center Annual Leather Brunch and toy drive at The Octavia Lounge. I have never been to the Lounge (Top Chef was filmed here).

A nice mellow time, with great food and light entertainment. After that we (Mamas Family), hosted and cooked for over 300 people at the Eagle Beer Bust. I came home exhausted. In bed and asleep by 10pm. Here are a few pics of the brunch

What I really want to do for the holidays.

This is a bit selfish of me, but I would like for once to celebrate the holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, with my friends. Not family. Don't get me wrong. My family, my mom, who will not live forever (going on 86), and my sister and her family, I love dearly. But for once, I would like to have a 100% gay, or mostly gay holiday. Have friends over for Thanksgiving. Celebrate the Xmas holiday (no gifts) in a fun manner. And Easter too (I have only been to the Castro Easter Hat Parade only once). Celebrate with those who, for various reasons, can not celebrate with their families.
I would like to volunteer at Tenderloin Tessies Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners, for those in need. Even one year, go on a trip, maybe Hawaii, or on an RSVP holiday cruise.
As most families with gay siblings, they have no clue how important our "community of friends" are. They are our rock, our shelter, our solace. And it is this time, of of many holiday times, that I want to be with them to share.

I'm proud of Carlos

I just want to say how proud I am of my best friend Carlos,sfmijo. He, with the help of friends, wanna be trainers ,Ho and Brian, got Carlos working out at the gym, 3-4 nights a week. With out much change in his eating habits and diet (which will be the next step), he lost 10-12 pounds in 3 weeks. And he already has developed a pretty good bicep (Bitch! Hate genetics!) Congrats! And of course I'm proud of the time he takes out of his valued personal time for the community. Love you!

DADDYHUNT Diddy

Interestingly, as we all know, if your on DH daily as I am, it doesn't take long to realize it's always the same guys on line. Me included. I mean here, locally (SF). It's like seeing the same guys, in the same bars, all the time (lol). So after awhile, you end up turning the pages real real fast. Same goes for the larger sites, BMB,NG,BM,SD,M4M,MH, etc. Of course sometimes there are some nice surprises ;-). And the nice thing is that when you see them out in public, you may at least have had a sneak peek of what they look like partially or totally naked. That right there may save you a lot of time in itself! ;-)
