The weekend and week so far

1. The weekend sort of started early with a visit from Will, of Dana Point, on Thursday evening. His BF Don was suppose to come too, but his work messed him up, so he had to stay behind.

2. Since I had to work Thursday and Friday, we stayed low Thursday night, except for the nice dinner at Jack's in San Bruno

3. After work Friday, it was off to the Castro with Will, for happy hr at the Midnight Sun, then later 440 and the Edge. Tom, Lee, Mark, and Jim also partaked (partook? Had partaken also??). Had a nice time!

4. We stayed out fairly late. Jim's headlight was out, so he decided to come home with us, and I'd drive him back to SF in the morning while on the way to Napa.

5. Will had not been to the Napa area for 15yrs, so we decided to go. The drive was pretty fast. The only problem is that my AC was out of Freon. So it was a very warm visit. The temps were in the high 80's. And to make things worse there was a 5 car pile up, which made driving slow from Napa to Calistoga. And without AC, it was hot!

6. We only stopped at one winery for tasting, Chandon Carneros

7. The Napa Valley wineries are not like they used to be. More tourists. And all charge by the glass, or up to $25 for 4 tastings. Livermore, and Paso Robles are a much better deal, with much of the same feel as Napa.

8. We ended up in Calistoga, a bit later than planned due to the accident. Had a nice late lunch/dinner. Then drove home

9. Saturday night. pooped from driving in the heat, we stayed in, relaxed, and watched Saturday night live.

10. Good thing I did. My weekend gal texted me,saying due mom was back in the hospital, she was giving me notice to quit and would not be in Sunday. Oy! She was to cover for my other weekend guy.

11. Scrambling, I called, and emailed a temp agency that we use often. And by luck, they called (on a Saturday night!), set us up with someone we have used before. So we were covered. I was not going to spoil my plans for Sunday, seeing I had to help out at Mama's 70th birthday party bash.

12. Up fairly early on Sunday, I cooked a great breakfast for Will. Then we went to the store, purchased a gift card and birthday card, then it was up to SF, to BeatBox for set up.

13. I, and Carlos were in charge of the beer bust table (we took turns)

14. Mama's Birthday fete was a blast. Got to see so many friends that I had not seen in a very long time.

15. Then it was off to the Castro, then home, for an early eveining.

16. Monday, it was up earlier than usual. Will had to pack, and I had to get him to the airport (10 min away) by 7:30 am

17. Zonked dead tired, I was asleep by 10:30 Monday night. And in bed fairly early Tuesday night.

18. I missed gym Thursday through Sunday. But managed to not gain any weight with all the food I had been eating. Back at gym on Monday, Tuesday, and this morning, I managed to lose 2 lbs! With all the gym crap I have been doing, my leather vest no longer fits. Now I need to get a new one! (and leather pants, leather shirt, and.... OY!)
I mention the gym so much, because I need to keep convincing myself to go. It is so much easier not to go!

19. Glad I had guests this weekend and we did what we did. This holiday weekend nothing planned so far. I am to work on Monday, so will probably stay around anyway
