Scamming??
1. Last night on my way out of the gym, the owner of my gym, stopped me at the water fountain to talk with me and his wife.
2. He complemented me on the physical changes I have made over the year.
3. Asked if I was still working with my young trainer. I said no. That I was taking a break.
4. He said my trainer is young and at many times, the owner wanted to jump in during my training sessions, and correct some of the things my trainer was having me do (this is the second trainer that told me that (including "Mr Muscle", with regards to some of the things I told him about).
5. Whatever.
6. He said that my potential, and work ethic is good. And have I ever thought of competing. LOL!
7. He said not as a bodybuilder as we know it, but there is another type of competition, set for part time gym types as myself; for those that work 9-5 jobs, and do gym as part of their life, not making it their life. No posing trunks required. You can do it in shorts. I need to get more lean, as I build up.
8. He was offering his services as a trainer I suppose.
8. Anyway, I thanked him for the complement. Was he sincere?
9. I thought about what he said, and then thought, maybe he is looking for new income. Maybe he is really not sincere. I certainly can't afford his rates!
10. Then today I get a call from my past trainer wanting to know how its going, what goals and plans he has for me if we continue to work out and all. About backup days when he is on call. About more intense 30 minute training, with leaning out and all.
11. I am no expert on this. Wish I had a 3rd party neutral person to tell me what to do.
12. I think for now, I will go it on my own. I have learned enough to go it on my own. But one always can learn something new, and get that extra push with a trainer. But have I plateaued? Do I need new advice to go beyond the plateau?
13. The gym is small enough that usually the expert trainers will actually give advice while I am training
14. I'm not posting this to toot my horn. And my changes if any are there, but not a big change, or at least I don't see it. I am just glad to be going to the gym in the first place.
15. I just don't want to be taken for a useless ride.
16. It's nice to have the extra $$ in the pocket too, instead of paying for a trainer.
17. And I don't ever plan to join any competition for sure, if I ever reached that point.
18. I still think the adage, "Make gym part of your life, not your life", is always worth remembering.
20. I'll do it on my own for now.... see what happens.
21. But might as well not get too wrapped up in this anyway, for the world is suppose to end in 2012 Right?
