1. I finally got to the many boxes in the spare room that contained my mom's 2 sets of china, photo albums, and just too much stuff my sister did not want or want to deal with (I'm not sure I want all of this stuff too)

2. After reorganizing my small storage closet in the complex, I was able to squeeze in a few more boxes.

3. Then was the task of emptying out most of what was on the floor in the spare room, wall to wall closet, to really come to the realization, I have lots of my own stuff that I really need to weed thorough and toss (or let it sit and let someone else take care of it should I die. LOL)

4. Again, with some reorganization, I managed to get the large boxes into the closet, and place them in a spot that I don't really have to get into unless I really have to. Then put the boxes of stuff I might need access to sooner (all my kitchen stuff, blender, mixers, steamers. My kitchen is too small to fit all this stuff. My cabinets are full as it is)

5. I labeled all the boxes, so now I know what I am looking at.

6. Of course I looked at the boxes on the top shelves wondering what was in some of the unlabeled boxes. One box was labeled, Xmas wrapping paper. Oy! I had that here too (I have another tote of paper in storage).

7. One box labeled, Garage Sale, by my sister, has all my moms Hummels, and porcelain painted birds, that she does not want. I actually don't want them either, except for the needle point my Aunts did for her. So I repacked them away. Will revisit, and maybe will just bring over to Goodwill, or see if anyone wants them via Craig's List advertising.
As for the many boxes and books of family photos (dating back to the 1900's) I will have to spend lots of time going through them all!

8. My sister wrapped some of the stuff in my mom's bath towels that she had when living at the senior center. We quickly moved things out of there, after she passed away over 2 yrs ago.

9. I checked the towels, all smelled fresh. However, I picked up one face towel out of one box and smelled it. I don't think it was laundered. It smells just like Mom. But that eerie smell when they are not well. The towels my later partner used also had that same odor.

10. It did not freak me out, but just an odd sense and feeling.

11. So its off to Goodwill tomorrow at lunch to bring in a few items.

12. Feels good to have the room, a bit more open and free of boxes. Still more to do, but at least this is out of the way. I need to rethink what I have, and rethink "I might need it someday" attitude. I really need to scale down the junk! I am not an antique dealer or Sanford and Son.

13. I had the urge to make chicken soup. So I made over 8 quarts today. Ate a lot already. Probably only 4 quarts left. Seems to have helped my chest cold.

14. The only thing I regret putting in the soup are peas. I love peas, but it just doesn't seem to complement a chicken noodle soup (peas seem to be more agreeable with beef, or pork).

What's left. 4-5 quarts
